A couple of weekends ago we had to pleasure of attending Play Fair. Needless to say, we had an incredible time! How could we not when there were so many toys to play with and so many family-friendly activities to take part in. Play Fair is a celebration of play and entertainment for kids of all ages! Let me tell you all about it.
Unlike Toy Fair that is an industry-only event, Play Fair brings new and beloved toy and pop culture brands together under one roof for an interactive and fun-filled live event open to everyone — families, fans, and media! Today I want to share with you our recap of this fun event. It took place on Saturday, Nov. 4th and Sunday, Nov. 5th at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. If you missed it this year, you surely shouldn’t next year!
Disclosure: I received a gift bag for attending this media event.
As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own and I only share what I love and think you will too!
We got to play with loads of our favorite toys and got to check out many of our favorite toy brands — Spinmaster, Play-Doh, LeapFrog, Vtech, New York Dolls, Moose Toys, MeeperBOT and so many more! There were Toynk Mystery Boxes and a giant Soggy Doggy Game. We got to meet the new Hero Droid BB-8 and also snapped pics with our favorite friends Scout and Geoffrey. There was even a fun Shopkins Fashion Show and we got to meet our favorite Shoppie Jessicake! Now you know the toddler loved taking part in that!
Deep in convo with her fave Shoppie 🍰 Jessicake. ➡️ to see all the fun at the #mousetoysplayfair booth, including a solid gold Shopkin 😱 Of course this was her favorite place! 💗 #hosted * If you have a #Shopkins fan make sure to stop by booth #444 if you’re at #PlayFair today 💗 * * * #toddlerlife #thisisthree #toddlers #toys #letsplay #playtime #welovetoys #moosetoys #momlife #kidlife #nyckids #nycmoms #nycevents #bloggerlifestyle
The entire family had so much fun! The kids haven’t stopped talking about Play Fair. Can you blame them? I’m not gonna bore you with all the written details because all these pics speak for themselves!
As an added bonus, The Toy Association even invited us to attend their Industry Preview Night on Friday night before doors opened to the general public on Saturday morning. It was really nice to explore all that Play Fair had to offer without the crowds. Watch highlights from this fun night, as well as from the entire weekend in our Play Fair 2017 video recap below — including baby girl dancing around on stage in her very first fashion show! Check it out 😉
Another Play Fair highlight was the unveiling of the 2018 Toy of the Year Award nominees. The Toy of the Year Awards are like the “Oscars” of Toy Industry and it was fun to predict which nominees might win since they were all on display at Play Fair. Which toys do you think might win?
Which toys will you be voting for? You can cast your vote for your favorite toy in each of the 17 categories from now until January 5th, 2018 by visiting toyawards.org.
Did you know that this year we were honored with the task of unveiling the Toy of the Year Award nominees in the category of Vehicle of the Year? So exciting! You can read our post to find out which toys made it to Vehicle of the Year nominees. And enter our giveaway for your chance to win one of these fun toy vehicles for yourself — just in time for the holiday! This year’s event was bigger than ever, expanding to 230,000 square feet and donating more than 16,000 toys to families in need through the Toy Industry Foundation. Following the show, Play Fair and its exhibitors extended the holiday cheer by donating more than 16,000 toys valued at $26,637 to the Toy Industry Foundation, which will be delivering the magic of play to local children and families experiencing severe forms of hardship. Kudos to all involved in Play Fair this year!
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you at Play Fair next year! My kids are already asking when do we get to go to Play Fair again. Can’t wait!
