Flashback to the Magic of KindCon: A Retreat for Educators and Microschool Leaders
As a long-serving educator and someone who runs homeschool enrichment programs, I’m always on the lookout for innovative approaches to education. Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the inaugural KindCon, a retreat for educators who lead with kindness. Since KindCon is back again this year, I wanted to share with you my experience attending this one-of-a-kind (no pun intended) conference hosted by the Kind Academy Microschool Network, a retreat for heart-centered CEOs and microschool leaders in Southwest Florida. It was so inspiring!
KindCon Retreat for Educators Recap
Being invited to KindCon was truly a highlight of my year. I had recently completed their Launch Your Kind Cohort led by the amazing Iman Alleyne, Founder and CEO of the Kind Academy Microschool Network. The chance to connect with so many like-minded individuals was inspiring. The conference took place at the beautiful The Ray hotel in Delray Beach, which provided the perfect backdrop for a gathering focused on connection and inspiration. I even brought the kids and the uber supportive hubby along, and they also enjoyed this hotel stay.

From the moment I arrived, the energy was palpable. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet other educators and founders who are deeply passionate about creating nurturing and effective learning environments. We shared ideas, discussed challenges, and celebrated the wins, all within a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. I left feeling invigorated and with a fresh perspective on how to further enhance my own homeschool enrichment programs.

KindCon 24 wasn’t just about awesome educational takeaways (though there were PLENTY of those!). It was about building a like-minded, supportive community of leaders and change makers. It was also about connecting with one’s own passions and vision as a leader. And most importantly, it was about setting intentions and hitting reset!
Here’s the real magic I walked away with:
Seek Alignment & Lead by Doing: We learned leadership isn’t just titles. It’s about taking action and aligning ourselves with our vision and purpose.
Build Leaders, Not Followers: Our greatest responsibility? Empowering others to rise and become leaders themselves.
Be authentic & Dream Big: We can be authentic and ambitious at the same time! Let’s dream big while managing the everyday challenges.
Believe & Stand Tall: Manifest your dreams! Remember, you deserve to be here, using your voice and shaping the future of education.

HUGE thanks to the Kind Academy team for putting on such an inspiring weekend, and now doing it again this year! I’m so grateful to be part of this community!
